A Woman’s Guide to Financial Planning

When my mother was 43 years old, she was divorced after 22 years of marriage and 5 boys, and I’m number two. Through no fault of her own, my mother was not prepared to handle her half of the settlement, and had tripped herself down the path of becoming an “old lady on a fixed income.” A Woman’s Guide to Financial Planning is fast past, fun and entertaining AND informative. The 7 Essential Ingredients walks the reader towards a real path to creating a well thought-out financial plan. Real stories allow the reader to learn quickly the importance of planning, so she doesn’t outlive her money. This book is a must read for all women who are faced with making independent financial decisions.

A Woman’s Guide to Financial Planning is very useful, practical and I am glad I read it. Shak Hill clearly explains in simple terms the essentials about financial planning, weaving in at times some engaging, real life stories. It clearly is a motivator to get oneself set up in that department. The book teaches in a meaningful and informative way that everyone should have a plan.

I used to think that finances were too complicated. Shak has a gift and makes the material fun and enjoyable, when it really could be boring. I am so glad that I read his book, and so will you. Make sure you GIVE the book to your mother, sister, daughter and wife!

Comprehensive book about financial management for older people, not jut women, and not just cancer. Types of investments and the reasons and drawbacks for each. Types of counselors and how to find a good one (and this is something you clearly shouldn’t do yourself.) Questions you should ask and things such as tax consequences and inheritance that you need to think about. Agh! My brain hurts, but worth the money.

A Woman’s Guide to Financial Planning (by Shak Hill) is FABULOUS!!

It is an answer to many-a-woman’s prayers and fears. I myself have always been single, and so the world of financial planning has been this untouchable mystery, since I was raised to expect the finances to be “the man’s job” in a family.

Thank you, Shak, for writing with Compassion, Vision and Purpose, to help women’s lives improve through a Financial Foundation. This brings confidence and peace of mind, and eventually Liberty — to live the life we each seek for ourself! He shows how to stay Calm & Steady during economic turbulence, and how to avoid potential disasters in the changing markets. Thank you, Shak, for diminishing my anxiety, and truly being a GUIDING LIGHT in this daunting financial world!

Shak’s own mother’s story of her financial lack of planning really hits home, and touchingly shows why he has a sincere and strong desire to help to change and improve WOMEN’s financial lives.

Shak gives “friendly investing advice”, with practical approaches that are clear and easy to understand. I really like his principles that cover ALL types of situations and life scenarios! He lays out plans for: Widows, Divorcees, Single Moms, Entrepreneurs, Leaders, Professionals, Children, Teens, Homemakers — you name it!

Lastly, I am inspired by his principle of “Prosper Financially God’s Way” — that says it all!

Give this “gift of education” to a lady in your life today! What better way to Empower Women, than to help them stand on their own?! Shak Hill blazes the way for women in today’s world! Thank you, thank you, Shak — We deserve it!!!

Written by a financial planner with real client experience, this book tells you what you need to know about a subject the no one wants to talk about. You will not be overwhelmed, but equipped with just enough information in all the right areas to move forward, find qualified help, and create your legacy plan — whether you are planning for the future or dealing with a current loss.

I should have read this book more than 20 years ago. No jargon. Great for basic concepts (and therefore applies to men, too). Provides motivation for getting started. Not designed for selecting specific investments. Provides a foundation for getting started and working with a professional financial advisor.

    Informative and Understandable

Shak Hill’s book is filled with useful financial information! As Shak recommends, my husband and I have used the services of a financial planner for many years, but I had not bothered trying to understand our plan. Shak’s motivational tone has already led to an informative financial conversation with my husband, and there are definitely more to come!

This book showed me the differences between trusts and wills, how various investments work, what mistakes to watch out for, and much more. Shak’s analogies and stories made the material more interesting and understandable than I thought possible. He gives so many examples that some are sure to hit home with every reader.

I highly recommend “A Woman’s Guide to Financial Planning.”
